Admission will be free at the Curragh on Sunday 9th October when the County Kildare venue stages their final race day of 2011.
Title race day sponsors Hacketts Bookmakers have agreed to support this initiative with the Curragh, which will allow everyone to enjoy a great day at the races with no admission cost
The Hacketts Bookmakers Irish Cesarewich, which is traditionally one of the most ultra competitive races of the year, will be the feature of a seven race programme starting at 2.15pm which will also include the Lanwades & Staffordstown Studs Stakes, Finale Stakes and Testimonial Stakes.
The race day will also kick start the Go Racing in Kildare Festival Week with four exciting race days taking place at all three County Kildare tracks from the 9th to the 16th October
Evan Arkwright, Commercial Manager of the Curragh Racecourse, commented “It is fair to say that 2011 has been a challenging year for the racecourse and although economical factors and poor weather have made life difficult for us, we have been very well supported throughout the year and therefore delighted that we can provide a token of our gratitude to our patrons by offering free admission in conjunction with Hacketts Bookmakers”
“We are pleased to support the Irish Cesarewitch again and to celebrate our tenth year of sponsorship by supporting the initiative to provide free admission which will hopefully encourage lots of people to enjoy one of the most competitive race days of the year” said John Hackett of Hackett’s Bookmakers.
