Network Ireland, hosted their annual awards in Drogheda last Friday the 28th September. The organisation for women in business, professions and the arts, is delighted to announce the winners of this year’s Business Women of The Year Awards. The awards were presented at the National Conference and Awards dinner in The d Hotel, Drogheda by TV3’s television presenter Sybil Mulcahy.
Network Ireland provides a forum where women in business, the professions and the arts can exchange business ideas and increase their business contacts. The event is supported by the Enterprise Ireland Female Entrepreneurship programme, Louth County Enterprise and the Sunday Business Post. The Women’s Fund at The Community Foundation for Ireland is the Network Ireland Charity of the Year 2012.
Edel Mc Cabe, Marketing & P.R. Manager from Naas Racecourse was judged to be Employed Business Woman of the Year. Twenty two finalists from across Ireland were interviewed for the Network Ireland Business Women of the Year Awards earlier this month, with other categories including new business and self employed. The Judges, Lorna Cooney from Meath Enterprise Board, Siobhan Woods from Coca-Cola International Services and Graham Hughes from Outsource Support Services took two days with their deliberations at the d Hotel in Drogheda.
Edel has worked in the racing industry for the past 8 years, and prior to that has worked internationally with Aer Lingus. Edel comments “I am over the moon to be awarded this much sought after title; the standard of contestants in my category was exceptionally high and it was a complete shock on the night. I love working for Naas Racecourse, we are always on the forward foot trying to evolve and change to meet the climate both in racing and in business. The recognition this will give Naas Racecourse, is immeasurable. I would like to sincerely thank all involved.”
Naas Racecourse’s Chairman, Dermot Cantillon, commented “We are extremely proud of Edel’s achievement; she is very talented in her area of Marketing and P.R. and puts in huge work on behalf of the racecourse. It is great to see her hard work and talent being recognised nationally.”
Naas Racecourse is racing on Sunday the 21st of October with one of the feature events of the Autumn, the traditional Birdcatcher racemeeting and the Osprey Hotel + Spa Best Dressed Ladies day. First Race is off at 1.50pm.
