Leading Light will be one of the stars to line up at the Irish Champions Weekend Trials taking place at the Curragh this Saturday and Sunday. The Aidan O’Brien trained Ascot Gold Cup hero is one of six runners in the Palmerstown House Estate Irish St Leger Trial on Sunday. The Johnny Murtagh trained Royal Diamond, who won the race last year, is among the other contenders in the Group 3 contest.
Also on Sunday, the Aidan O’Brien trained Gleneagles is among the six runners in the Group 2 Galileo Futurity Stakes with Parish Boy, Hall of Fame and Convergence amongst the entries, while Beach Belle, Qualify, Lucida, and Tigrilla trained in Britain by Roger Varian feature among the 9 runners in the Group 2 Debutante Stakes. Kingsbarns and Parish Hall head the runners in the Kilfrush Stud Royal Whip Stakes.
The much travelled Gordon Lord Byron is among the nine runners in the Renaissance Stakes, the feature race tomorrow Saturday. The Tom Hogan landed the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes at Randwick in Sydney last March.
